Star Citizen Alpha Patch 4.5

Alpha Patch 4.5 has been released for the Evocati and is now available for testing! The patch should now display: VERSION 4.5.0-PTU.10800284.

Target Audience: Evocati Only (Standard ETF NDA) (possibly Wave 1 Saturday or Sunday if the build passes validation)

Fire is currently not working in many ships. VFX are e.g. visible in C1 Spirit, Perseus and Starlancer TAC, but not in ships like Gladius, Cutlass Black, or Corsair.

Features & Gameplay Gameplay Updates Engineering Gameplay

Introduction of dedicated engineering roles on board ships, allowing players to manage energy distribution, repairs, and system efficiency in real time. The aim is for the ships to behave similarly well as in 4.4.0 - but with the added possibility to go beyond previous limits through engineering and multicrew.

This includes numerous updates for all ships and vehicles:

first implementation of ship armor

major updates to heat, energy and life support systems

new diagnostic and engineering screens

adjusted component hit points, damage resistance and heat development

revised hull health and weapon balance

updated repair tools

Since the previous tech preview, there have been many fixes and balance-/UI updates and further vehicle updates:

Disabled fire on bullet hits

Disabled overheating of power plants

More coolant from coolers

Lower critical failure point at power plants

Armor has hit points again

Fixes for ballistic cooldowns

Reduced radar heat

Ship HP now tied to critical HP

Further balancing updates will continue to be made during the PTU phases of 4.5.

Ship Fire Hazards

Fire hazards in ships and environments, including fire extinguisher mechanics. Players must extinguish fires before they spread. Fire extinguishers can be found on board, have limited use, and need to be recharged later.

Weapons and Items Physical Helmets

Introduction of physical helmets in the Persistent Universe. You can:

pick them up

turn them

inspect them closely

carry them around

attach them to your belt

or throw them across the room

When equipped, you use exactly the same helmet that you held in your hand - including a complete interior.
